DESIGNER jumpers which could have sold for more than £150,000 have been stolen from a lorry.

Crooks got through the side of the vehicle curtains while it was parked in a layby off the A12 and stole 5,000 jumpers.

Up to 70 packages of Pescecane Rosso jumpers - which translates as red shark and has the symbol on the clothing - were taken.

The jumpers have an estimated value, on a shop shelf, of about £35 each.

Police in Suffolk are searching for those responsible.

The theft took place off the southbound carriageway between Capel St Mary and East Bergholt.

It happened between 1am and 5am, on Monday July 11, with details now released after initial investigations failed.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: "Offenders accessed the lorry by damaging the fabric side of the trailer.

"A number of aluminium bars were removed from the side of the lorry and a large quantity of packages containing clothes taken from within the vehicle.

"The missing clothing is thought to be around 60 to 70 packages containing mens’ jumpers, with labels inside featuring the brand name "Pescecane Rosso”.

"Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have been offered any men’s jumpers matching this description for sale."
