A CYCLIST has died after a crash with a van on the A133.

The road between Clacton and Weeley was closed on Sunday evening after the collision, just before 6pm.

A man aged in his 40s from Clacton had been cycling along the A133 when he was involved in a crash with a white Ford Transit.

He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, but died at 8.45pm.

The road was closed until after 9pm while police examined the scene.

Investigations are ongoing and police have appealed for information from any witnesses to the crash who have not already been spoken to.
