A “STUNNING” microbrewery at the end of the Dengie trainline is tipped to be a “real tourist destination” if plans get the go ahead.
It is hoped that Burnham and Southminster will be able to cash in as thousands of tourists from across the country make the pilgrimage for a pint in a beautiful Grade II listed barn.
Two Dengie families have joined forces to convert a Southminster barn into a brewery with a tap room pub and a shop, creating ten jobs in the process.
The planning application for a change of use of the barn has been submitted to Maldon District Council by Ben Fisher, of DJ Fisher Farms.
Mr Fisher, 35, who runs the Southminster farm with his dad and grandfather, believes the brewery could become the latest jewel in the crown of the Dengie.
