The detective investigating the disappearance of a Kelvedon man has asked farmers to look out for evidence when harvesting their crops.
Det Chief Insp Marina Ericson, who is leading the search for Chris May, who went missing on May 25, said the investigation is still being treated as a murder without a body.
An anonymous letter sent to police in June claimed the 28-year-old had been killed.
DCI Ericson said: "We are working in conjunction with the farmers to ensure they don’t miss anything so we get that greater level of confidence that Chris May is not there."
Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestopers on 0800 555111.
