More than 1,300 properties in Halstead were left without power yesterday.
UK Power Networks said the failure was due to a fault on an overhead line at 10.49am.
Engineers managed to restore power to 629 customers at 10.53am, a further 411 customers had their power restored at 12.40pm and the remaining 323 properties had their electricity back on at 1.55pm.
A spokesman said: "We understand how difficult it is to be without electricity and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
