VOLUNTEER first aiders are needed to join the St John Ambulance service in Manningtree.
The unit, based in Station Road, already has 16 volunteers, but it is looking to boost its numbers by the end of the year.
Unit manager Quentin Sage said: “We’re on the lookout for some new firstaiders over the age of 18 to help us continue to provide first aid in the community.
“Anyone interested does not need any prior first aid experience as we will provide full training over the period of a few months to develop them into competent first-aiders who can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
“I’d love to hear from local people who’d like to join us and learn essential life-saving skills.”
Volunteers provide cover at events, including village fetes and football tournaments, as well as covering more high-profile events such as V Festival in Chelmsford.
The unit meets between 8pm and 10pm on Mondays, when the training will be given.
