Two mums are setting up a neighbourhood watch group in their village.

Claire Saye and Katie Loman, who both have two children, are launching the crime watch group in Tolleshunt D’Arcy.

Mrs Saye, 38, said: “Some people think they have to do a lot to become a member, but it’s just a case of keep a look out and reporting incidents.

“There have been two break ins in D’Arcy and maybe a couple in surrounding villages, as well as some trespassing.

“There’s a lot of elderly people in the village who are vulnerable, so we will be looking out for them.

“It will be nice to have that community where people look out for each other.

“Police say just having neighbourhood watch signs in windows are a good deterrent.”
