A church school inspection has concluded with a local primary school receiving a ‘good’ judgement in all categories.

The inspection was carried out by the National Society of the Church of England, as part of statutory inspections of anglican and methodist schools (SIAMS) reports.

St Mary’s Primary School, in Marsh Road, Burnham, was inspected in February, with the report rating the school ‘good’, one category down from the top ‘outstanding’ judgement.

The SIAMS report said the school was good at meeting the needs of all learners and leadership and management were effective.

The report links good pupil behaviour to the positive influence of the school’s core values.

A statement from the school said it will focus on ensuring consistent quality and amount of written work in all year groups, developing the children’s understanding of the Trinity and better recording of its monitoring activities in order to reach “outstanding”.
