A CAMPAIGN to tackle path defects has been put on hold until after the May elections.

Fed-up councillors at Manningtree Town Council have been locked in a battle with Essex Highways for more than two years to try to get the town’s notorious pavements fixed.

They have already produced a dossier with more than 60 photos showing the defects, which they intend to pass to Essex County Council.

Town councillors have agreed to continue with their idea of sending photos in a huge envelope to show how the issue had now become a “big problem”.

But they will wait until after the elections on May 7 and tie the dossier delivery in with a new campaign poster.
