Pair given first aid by firefighters after lounge carpet catches fire
A man and a woman were treated for smoke inhalation after their lounge carpet caught fire.
Firefighters were called to Tiptree Road, Great Braxted, at 4.30pm after the fire spread from their chimney.
Firefighters gave the pair first aid and crews in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire by 5.10pm.
An ambulance was called for the man and woman.
Fire crews also used a ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.
