Rachel Sharpe, 19, was punched to the floor and hit in the face with a belt by the man in the early hours of November 1.
A police spokesman said: “Investigations are continuing and no-one has been arrested at this time.
“If anyone believes they have information about this assault and has not yet spoken to police then they are asked to contact Braintree CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
