A missing man has been found following extensive searches by police, family and volunteers.

Michael Bell, 57, left his home in Finchingfield on Tuesday.

There had been a potential sighting of his car, a black Nissan Note, in Fingringhoe at 9.30am today.

He was discovered at a nature reserve at Fingringhoe Wick at about 12.30pm.

He has been reunited with his family and will be taken to hospital for a check-up.

Essex Police thanked the media and members of the public who have helped in the successful search for Mr Bell.

A number of family members and friends are joining the police search of the Fingringhoe and Colchester areas.
