Plans have finally been approved to start work on building an Aldi store in Witham.
The discount supermarket was refused planning permission last November and lost an appeal in May.
But it submitted new blueprints for a 990-square metre store on the corner of Gershwin Boulevard and Hatfield Road which have now been accepted.
The store is expected to create about 20 jobs.
Councillor Michael Lager said: “I am delighted. Now I just hope they get a move on."
