As supermarkets do battle over fuel prices, consumers are reaping the benefits.
A price war on the forecourts has seen some supermarkets use fuel as a loss leader to entice shoppers in to spend on groceries.
Profit margins are thought to be as low as 5p per litre and even lower for supermarkets which are slashing their prices.
