A total of £200,000 has been allocated to improve Braintree Road in Cressing.

The Essex County Council funded scheme will see several improvements made to the B1018 Braintree Road, in Cressing, including widening the existing carriageway, creating a footpath to link with the existing path at the north of Braintree Road, and the installation of new kerbing.

The scheme was discussed and approved at the Braintree Local Highways Panel on April 3.

County Councillor Rodney Bass, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, said: “This scheme will vastly improve the B1018 for all those who use it for driving, cycling or walking.”

County Councillor Roger Walters, Chairman of the Braintree Local Highways Panel, added: “I am extremely pleased this project has been given the go-ahead, as it will improve the journeys of those visiting and commuting through this lovely part of the county.”
