A RESTAUANT chain has thrown its weight behind the Clacton Air Show in a bid to boost the show and the town.

Toby Carvery restaurants around the country will help advertise the summer spectacular to help increase interest in the event.

Manager at the Clacton restaurant, Dan Farnell said: “The amount of interest it brings in is absolutely staggering, and so beneficial to every local business in the area.

“It helps promote the name of the town and brings a lot of people in.

“We met with Tendring Council because we want to help raise awareness of the air show to help it flourish.

“We have restaurants throughout Essex and London, so we have a real opportunity to tell a lot of people about the show and hopefully bring more people into the town.”

The chain is planning a poster campaign in its other restaurants to advertise the summer show, as well as promoting it on its Facebook page.

A recent report revealed that the air show generates more than £3.7million for Clacton’s economy.

The air show will be held on August 23 and 24 this year.
