COMMUNITY groups in Tendring have been given more than £50,000 in lottery funding.
Little Clacton village hall has been awarded the maximum amount of £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All scheme to enable it to refurbish its disabled toilet and bring it up to scratch for hall users.
St Osyth’s village hall has also benefited with £5,000 being given to replace the worn out car park.
Restoration of the roof of the YMCA building in Brightlingsea can go ahead after a £10,000 pay out.
Great Bentley Primary School has gained £9,006 for outdoor fitness equipment which children will be able to use during lessons and after school.
Teen Talk in Harwich was also given £10,000 to replace their boiler and fire alarms, while the Colchester-based Samaritans office, which covers Tendring, was given the same amount to equip their new centre with beds, chairs, desks and computers.
