ROTARIANS in Clacton have handed almost £4,000 to charities from the town.

Clacton Rotary Club met representative from a variety of charities and good causes for their annual community service committee awards evening at the town's West Cliff Theatre.

The cash was collected by rotarians who manned the car park for Clacton Air Show and who visited supermarkets in the town and on the street at Christmas time.

Grants were handed to East Anglian Childrens' Hospice, Tendring Scouts, Friends of Jaywick Library, Tendring Specialists Stroke Services, Alton Park Primary School, Colchester Hospital's Brightlingsea Ward, Tendring Young Carers and Clacton Sea Cadets.
