TENDRING has picked up two prestigious Green Flag awards for its open spaces.
Just one year after gaining its first ever award for Clacton's Seafront Gardens, the district has picked up a second accolade for Frinton's Crescent Gardens.
The Crescent Gardens have now been recognised as one of the country’s best green spaces. Clacton Seafront Gardens also retained its award for 2010.
Tendring Council said the Crescent Gardens stood out after impressing the judges with its excellent use of green space, well-maintained facilities and high standard of safety and security.
Leisure boss Stephen Mayzes said: “The council is absolutely delighted to have been awarded a second Green Flag – just 12 months after picking up its first.
“This really does highlight and promote the natural environment we have to offer here in Tendring.
“Spaces like this are important as they help contribute towards people’s health and well-being.”
