A BLAZE which ripped through a bungalow in Jaywick is being treated as suspicious.
The fire broke out in Brooklands Gardens just before midnight.
Three fire crews from Clacton and Weeley tackled the inferno.
Half of the property was already in flames by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.
Luckily no-one was in the building when the fire started.
Sub officer dan Partridge said: "At first it was feared people were in the house because shouts were heard but thankfully it turned out to be neighbours."
The bungalow was gutted by the blaze but no-one was injured.
The fire was out by 0.45am.
The building was so badly damaged it is unclear where the fire broke out but it is believed it may have been started deliberately.
Investigators are trying to establish the cause of the fire.
