Joanne comes up a little short

POLICEWOMAN Joanne Worrow is back pounding the beat hours after strutting her stuff on the catwalk trying to become Miss England.

The 23-year-old failed to get to the next stage of the beauty competition ... and blamed it on her height.

“I think I’m missing about six inches compared to the other girls,” said 5ft 2ins Clacton cop Joanne, who now lives in Colchester.

“They were all about 5ft 8ins, but it was a great experience.”

Joanne headed off to a country mansion in Rutland, Leicestershire, after getting into the last 12 of the Miss Professional section of the competition.

The former Clacton County High schoolgirl took to the catwalk wearing her PC uniform, club wear and ballgown. “I wasn’t very glamorous compared to the rest of them,” she said.

“They were all in their high heels and I was there in my chunky boots.

“When I didn’t make it into the last seven I was going to go up there and say ‘You’re nicked’.

“But it was a great experience. I was chuffed to get into the final."
