A MAN has admitted charges of rape, kidnap and falsely imprisoning a 17-year-old girl.
Daniel Bramman, of Broadway, Jaywick, adbucted the teenager from the side of the road in Rush Green Road, Clacton, on March 1.
The 36-year-old admitted the charges when he appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court. He denied other charges of causing the teenager actual bodily harm and raping a woman between March 2008 and March this year. His pleas were accepted.
Detectives yesterday said they were pleased Bramman had pleaded guilty, to save his victim the trauma of giving evidence in court.
Bramman will be sentenced in August, once pre-sentence and psychiatric reports are prepared.
Bramman was remanded in custody. There was no application for bail.
Although no details were disclosed in court, police said the victim was bundled into the boot of a white saloon car, and taken to an unidentified boatyard or storage area.
She was raped on board a boat before being driven to Pump Hill, St Osyth, where she was released.
More than 20 officers from Essex Police’s major investigation team worked on the investigation.
Bramman was arrested on March 11.
Stephen Mayzes, district councillor for Clacton’s Rush Green ward, where the girl was abducted, said knowing Bramman was off the streets would be a huge relief to residents.
He added: “This is something that has affected a lot of people in the community. It made people very fearful.
“For a number of weeks it became a community where you didn’t want to be out on your own after dark, or even in the daytime.”
