POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault at a bar in Clacton.

A man was talking to a woman in the smoking area of the pub when he was approached by two men at Ronnie's Bar in Old Road.

One of the men punched him, leaving the man with two black eyes.

PC Adam Philips said: “We are now looking for anyone with any information to come forward particularly with the identification of the other man.

“This individual was fair haired and wearing dark clothing.”

A 26-year-old man was arrested on February 3 on suspicion of assault and released on bail to March 31.
