Clacton's Nationwide hit by flood

A BUILDING society was forced to close its doors after part of the ceiling fell in.

Nationwide's Clacton branch remained shut today after staff discovered the damage.

Spokesman Roy Beale said a number of ceiling tiles had fallen down after a water leak at the Pier Avenue branch but the building was not structurally damaged.

"We are currently working to fix the leak and dry the ceiling so we can get the branch open as soon as possible," he said.

A note in the window said the branch could remain closed tomorrow but bosses confirmed it would reopen on Tuesday.
