Walton: Record crowds for bumper car show

HUNDREDS of vintage vehicles rolled into Walton for the resort’s seventh annual classic car show.

The event was held at Bath House Meadow and saw vehicles from pre-1947 cars to Rolls Royces, motorbikes, custom cars and American cars.

Organisers said more than 4,000 people and 460 classic cars turned out for the event “It was the biggest and best car show we have held,” said event chairman John Halls.

“We are delighted that so many people turned up and that it went so well.

“We had so many cars that we had to open another field and all three car parks.

“A lot of them said they will be coming back next year.

“We would like to thank all the entrants, as well as helpers and volunteers as well as the local police for directing traffics.”

Trophies were handed to the winners of the various classes by town mayor Robert Bucke.
