FINAL preparations are starting to take shape before Clacton Air Show takes to the skies in two months time.
The event – which is in its 18th year – is organised by Tendring Council and will take place on August 27 and 28.
Organisers said a whole host of aircraft have signed up to take part in the show this year – including the Red Arrows, who have confirmed they will be performing on both days of the event.
Carlo Guglielmi, the council's cabinet member for community, partnerships and renewal, said: “It always provides a tremendous spectacle in the skies over Clacton – and this year promises to be just as enthralling.
“The event is the biggest in the district’s calendar and it attracts crowds to the area and boosts business for our traders.”
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is also making a return to the show this year, and will include the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster.
Among the other attractions will be the world’s only formation wingwalking team, Team Guinot, as well as the Hawk, the Tutor, the RAF Sea King helicopter, King Air, Mustang, Blades extreme formation aerobatic display team, Swift Team gliders, Hunter and the Helimed Air Ambulance.
The council said it has not been able to sign up the Apache helicopter this year due to operational reasons.
Entertainments and trade will be on the Greensward and performances by local dance schools, local music groups as well as two visiting dance troupes will also take place.
Polish and German dance groups will also be taking to the stage as part of town twinning celebrations.
