COLCHESTER rock star Damon Albarn has said he wouldn't allow any Gorillaz songs to be used in Glee.
The former Blur singer said he wasn't a fan of the hit musical show, whose stars have already covered hits by the likes of Madonna and the Beatles.
"We wouldn't let that happen," Damon said.
He laughed: "And not that they've asked us because they haven't, and now they definitely won't."
Damon claimed programmes like Glee showcase "a very poor substitute for the real thing" - and he was unimpressed by the cast recently surpassing the Beatles for the most appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by a non-solo act.
"Those songs won't last like the Beatles by any stretch of their imagination," he said. "They'll be forgotten in a few years' time."
Gorillaz kicked off the North American leg of their Escape To Plastic Beach World Tour earlier this month. It wraps up in Vancouver on November 3.
