A CAMPAIGN has been launched to allow a rescue dog to go home in time for Christmas.
Darcy the border collie is Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s only specialist search and rescue dog, based with the Urban Search and Rescue Team.
After returning from Sumatra, Indonesia, where she helped in the search for earthquake survivors, Darcy was taken straight into quarantine in kennels at Stanway, Colchester.
Newsquest Essex is backing the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s campaign for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to review the quarantine laws when it comes to rescue dogs.
