Clacton: Open space compensated

A DEAL to provide children with a play area on a housing estate has gone through.

Developers have handed Tendring Council land for recreation on the Cann Hall estate, Clacton, as compensation for losing open space elsewhere in the town.

Cosy Developments has given the council 0.81 hectares in Cranleigh Close in return for building on green land at the former Windsor School site.

It will also pay the council £100,000 to make the area suitable for the public to use and its maintainence.
