A TEENAGER who tried to steal a crate of milk has been let off by the courts.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, admitted trying to steal 14 bottles from a milkfloat in Clacton on March 31.
He was given an absolute discharge but ordered to pay £85 costs by Colchester Youth Court.
The teenager, of Holland Road, Clacton, said he had donated £10 to St Helena Hospice and apologised to the milkman.
