A MAN was left with a suspected fractured skull after being hit by a train carrying passengers from Clacton to London Liverpool Street.
British Transport Police were called to Shenfield Station at around 10am today after the victim was found injured on the platform.
The train was terminated at Shenfield.
Another service, the 11.18 London Liverpool Street to Clacton, was cancelled.
Instead a train ran from Colchester to Clacton at 12.26.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “The man is believed to have been hit by a train after he trespassed onto the tracks.
“The incident was reported to British Transport Police at 10.17am and was also attended by officers from Essex Police.
“Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service treated the man at the scene, and have since taken him to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
“The incident is being treated as non-suspicious.”
