A MAN has been jailed for sending “sexual and menacing” messages on the internet.

Mark Wild sent four private messages to his ex-partner’s friend on Facebook after the two had an row.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard Wild, 42, had left Brydie Fisher, from Clacton, fearing for herself and her family’s safety.

Simon Bravery, prosecuting, said: “Mr Wild’s ex-partner Sharon Morley had moved out to live with her friend Brydie Fisher.

“Ms Fisher received a number of messages on her Facebook account which were extremely abusive towards her and members of her family.”

Wild admitted four charges of sending abusive messages.

Laura Austin, mitigating, said he only got in contact with Ms Brydie to apologise after they rowed over the phone.

Mr Chilvers said Wild, of Blackthorn Avenue, Colchester, had a history of violence and sentenced him to six weeks in prison.

He was also given a restraining order to not contact Ms Fisher for 12 months.

Wild shouted at the bench and left the dock before he heard the full sentence.
