A NEW gate has been installed to improve disabled access to a park in Clacton.

Visitors had complained that access to Brook Country Park in Great Clacton was restricted at one entrance.

A single gate at the east entrance had made it impossible for disabled people to get into the 35-acre green space.

But a £1,750 new gate has now been installed by Tendring Council.

The eastern entrance is by the junction of Britton Way and London Road.

Deputy leader of Tendring Council Peter Halliday said: “The country park is a facility which promotes health and we want to ensure that as many people as possible are able to make the most of it."
