A DRUG dealer, who had nearly £2,000 stashed in his car, has been jailed for four years.

Troy Daniel-Kennard, 24, was stopped by officers in Alton Road, Clacton on November, 10 last year.

Officers spotted Daniel-Kennard looking suspicious the police approached him in his car.

Daniel-Kennard tried to conceal a mobile phone and a blue plastic bag which prompted police to search his car.

Officers found the plastic bag to contain £1,968 which was seized along with three mobile phones.

Daniel-Kennard of Bayston Road, Stoke Newington was arrested and charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs (crack and heroin) and money laundering.

He pleaded guilty to the charges at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday November 23 and was jailed for four years.

Sgt Andy Stott of the North Operation Raptor team said: “We know who the drug dealers are, we know what cars they drive and we know where they operate.

“If they think they can come to our communities then, just like Daniel-Kennard, we will arrest them, charge them and put them before the courts.

“If you have information about drug dealing or gang-related crime in your community, then please tell us. Your information is vital and we will act on it.”
