A NEW children’s day nursery looks set to open in Jaywick.
Little Pals Nursery put in a planning application for the site in Broadway.
It was previously only able to be used as a Sure Start day care centre by Essex County Council.
The building has extensive grounds including a garden set out with play equipment and a covered play area. There was a restriction from 2001 which prevented the property being used as anything but a family support centre.
However, that condition has now been lifted by Tendring Council planners.
The nursery will employ five full-time staff and one part-time member.
A council spokesman said: “Tendring Council decided while this is effectively a new permission the proposal is acceptable in highway safety and amenity terms.
“It was previously used by parents and children and that will remain so.”
The nursery plans to operate from 8am to 6pm from Monday to Friday.
