THEATRE group bosses are promising a sideways look at Britain’s decision to go it alone in Brexit – The Farce Awakens this weekend.
The play is the latest from the pen of the Clacton-based Mad About Theatre team and is a satirical look at ditching the EU.
Director Indi Allen said: “Brexit – The Farce Awakens is a wry look at the ins and outs of the seismic shift from our European neighbours.
“It is a fictitious tale of government ministers muddling through a world domination plan, whilst a young apprentice, Gina Smith, at the government press office, wants to change the way the adults see the world and encourages a group of school children and their teacher to become part of the revolution.
“Instead of division, she flies the flag for humanity.
“It is a humorous yarn with some musical interludes and off-the-wall comedy.”
The company has raised more than £83,000 for good causes over the past 17 years and is helping Children’s Respite Care in 2017.
Brexit – The Farce Awakens is being staged at Clacton County High School this Saturday with performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets are £5 (£3 children or ten matinee tickets for £30) on 07709 315510, or will be available from the box office on the day.
