A TEENAGER has become the third stabbing victim in Clacton in as many days.

The 14-year-old boy was attacked on Monday night outside Favorite Chicken and Ribs food shop in Rosemary Road, Clacton.

The boy, from London, was stabbed twice, once in the bottom and once in the upper thigh, in the assault which took place at 10pm.

Paramedics arrived at the scene within four minutes of the 999 call.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said it dispatched an ambulance crew, ambulance officer, rapid response vehicle, and air ambulance from the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The youngster was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While police were investigating the attack at Favorite Chicken and Ribs, they arrested a 15-year-old boy from Clacton on suspicion of drugs offences. He has now been released without charge.

A staff member from Favorite Chicken and Ribs, who asked not to be named, said she found out about the incident when the manager called her that night.

She said: “I feel sorry for the boy.”

He is the third person to be stabbed since Saturday when a 50-year-old man suffered a wound to his chest in Bluehouse Avenue, Clacton.

Danny Myers, 23, suffered a fatal stab wound at a house in Rochford Road, St Osyth, in the early hours of Monday morning.

The fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old St Osyth man followed on Monday morning in Rochford Road, St Osyth.

So far a 35-year-old man, of London, and 29-year-old Clacton woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The town still remembers father James Gregoire, 54, known locally as 'Pongo' who died of several stab wounds to the upper body in an alleyway near Clacton's Covered Market in 2015.

Rumours say the recent incident is linked with drug activity in the area.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Clacton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
