SEVERAL incidents caused by high winds affecting this district are being dealt with by Tendring Council.
A number of trees have been blown down in the strong winds and there have been reports of scaffolding boards that need to be secured in Clacton.
The gable end of a home in Little Oakley has been sucked out by the strong wind.
Police and Tendring Council’s structures and development manager Barry Eldridge has joined are at the site.
Nigel Brown, Tendring Council’s communications manager, said: “Our understanding at this time is that part of the building has landed on a car but no one has been injured in the incident.
“We have a number of staff out at different locations around the district dealing with various issues as quickly and efficiently as possible under the circumstances.
“This includes removing trees that have fallen and clearing them away.”
Mr Brown added that council staff have also visited a block of flats where there are some loose scaffolding boards.
He added: “We have given out some important advice about either staying indoors or finding somewhere else to go until the wind dies down which is expected to be either later this afternoon or early this evening.
“We are also working in close liaison with Essex County Council, Essex Police and Essex Fire and Rescue Service and other partners during this time.”
A district emergency response centre has been set up by Tendring Council where it is coordinating its response to the reported incidents.
