NURSES from Clacton Hospital are walking pier to pier for charity this weekend.

About 15 nurses from the outpatients ward are taking part in the fundraiser for breast cancer research and motor neurone disease.

Last year’s event raised an amazing £13,000.

Outpatient sister Angela Barron said: “One of our nurses was having chemo for breast cancer when we did it last year.

“She started it all off, but wasn’t well enough to do it, but this year she’s walking it with her family.

“This year, we are also raising money for motor neurone disease because Josie Edwards, the sister of one our nurses, died of it last year.”

The nurses will be carrying collection buckets along the walk which sets off from Walton on Saturday at 10am.
