A SUPER slimmer has revealed how amusement park embarrassment pushed her to lose an astonishing amount of weight.

Rebecca Levey, 33, of Kirby Cross, is just half the woman she used to be after losing more than 11st in an incredible drive to shed the pounds.

She was spurred into action after a devastating trip to Paris two years ago.

Red-faced Rebecca said: “Our family went to Disneyland on holiday and we had a fantastic time until I was asked to leave a ride because the safety belt wouldn’t do up.

“I was gutted, absolutely devastated and embarrassed, and my son was humiliated.

“After that, he always said ‘Mummy, remember that ride you’re too fat for?’ It was a horrible memory.”

Rebecca decided she had to lose weight to spare her own blushes.

She tried to go it alone at first, but eventually joined a local Weight Watchers group to help pull her through.

She said: “Not long after Disneyland my husband booked a holiday abroad and I was terrified I wouldn’t fit in the seat on the plane and the belt wouldn’t do up.

“That was my real starting point.

“Weight Watchers worked for me before when it helped me get down from 22st so I hoped it would help again.”

Rebecca has now dropped to less than 11st.

She added: “I think my secret was just writing everything down and forcing myself to stay on track.

“You have to be completely determined.

“It took a while for me to realise how much weight I’d lost but I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve accomplished.

“Last week I returned to Disneyland with my son, and I was just as excited as him.

“The ride seatbelts fit just fine, and it really was the best feeling hearing my son say ‘You fit mummy!’”
