A DOG was rescued from a burning car by a brave passer-by in Clacton.
Firefighters were called to the car blaze in Sladbury’s Lane at about 2.10pm on Tuesday and arrived to find the vehicle well alight.
By the time crews reached the scene a passer-by had already rescued a dog from the car – an eight-month-old mastiff named Mr Wilson.
The firefighters wore breathing apparatus as they got close enough to extinguish the flames.
The dog was unhurt, but was given oxygen therapy by the firefighters and left in the care of his owner, who arrived at the scene while the incident was ongoing.
Fire officers say the blaze has been recorded as accidental.
