PLANS for a new bungalow in Weeley’s Gutteridge Hall Lane have been rejected because it would set an “undesirable precedent”.

Tendring Council as turned down a planning application for the scheme which includes parking, landscaping and other works.

The site is outside the village’s settlement development boundary and is also opposed by Weeley Parish Council.

The council said the site was not environmentally sustainable.

A spokesman said: “The closeness of the proposal to another property would present a cramped appearance and cause significant harm to the spaciousness characterised by the area.

“If given the go-ahead it would have also set an undesirable precedent for the locality.”
