ESSEX is bucking the trend when it comes to race hate crimes against Jews.
Anti-semitic crime rose rapidly with 477 incidents in 2013/14 rising to 819 reported in 2014/15 across the country.
In Essex the number halved - from eight to four.
The force was also praised this week by Lord Alan Sugar who was racially abused on Twitter.
A youth was fined £100 at Chelmsford Crown Court after he was tracked down by Essex Police.
Lord Sugar sent his thanks to the force whose record is better than most other forces.
In London and Greater Manchester in particular there has been a giant rise. Crimes included assault, harassment, arson and criminal damage.
The Community Security Trust reviewed incidents and also found a large rise. The findings come at a time of heightened alert among Jewish communities after terrorist attacks in Europe.
