YOUNG pirates put their best foot forward as they completed a special themed toddle waddle in Walton.
The children from the town’s Letterbox Day Nursery donned pirate costumes, including hats, eye-patches and swords, as they tested their little legs to the limit for charity.
Children aged from 18 months to four years marched along the halfmile route, finishing at Walton Pier.
At the pier, they released balloons with messages attached, in the hope of tracking where they end up.
The toddle waddle was organised to raise money for children’s charity Barnardo’s.
A spokesman from the High Street nursery said: “We took part in a sponsored Big Toddle walk to raise money for Barnardo’s. All children who attend Letterbox Day Nursery were able to participate in one of three pirate-themed walks that were organised with the staff and alongside parents.
“We are incredibly proud to announce that the nursery raised an outstanding amount of £1,000, and the children all received certificates and medals once they completed it.”
