ONE of Clacton’s most popular beaches could be ruled off limits to swimmers because it is at risk of failing tough new EU pollution standards.
The Sunshine Coast has some of the best beaches in the country and boasts five prized Blue Flags – more than anywhere else in the region.
But Groyne 41 – next to West Beach by the pier – is in danger of seeing a bathing ban introduced next year.
Annual tests carried out over the past four years have warned it will be rated poor when the new rules come in.
