UNEMPLOYMENT has fallen in the Tendring district for the third month running.
Latest official figures showed there were 2,010 people – 2.6 per cent – claiming out-of-work benefits in the district last month.
The Office for National Statistics figures for April showed 102 fewer people were jobless compared with March.
But compared with this time last year, there were 652 more people in work.
The number of 18 to 24- year-olds out of work in the district also fell to 490 five per cent).
At its lowest point in January 2010, 3,890 people (4.9 per cent) were claiming unemployment benefits in Tendring.
Nationally, the number of jobseekers fell last month by 12,600 in April to 764,000 (1.9 per cent).
