A TRAIN strike which threatened to cause chaos for commuters next week has been cancelled.

Network Rail workers had planned to walk out for 24 hours at 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday as part of a row about pay and job security.

After four days of discussions the two unions involved, Transport Salaried Staffs Association and National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers, reached an agreement and cancelled the action.

Earlier today Greater Anglia announced itwould cancel all train services after midday on Monday and run an “extremely limited” skeleton service if the strike went ahead.
