FIREFIGHTERS were called into Clacton town centre after reports a derelict restaurant was alight.
Two crews were sent to the former Sandles Inn Chinese Restaurant in Rosemary Road at about 9.40am.
When they arrived they found rubbish on fire within the derelict structure, rather than the building itself being alight.
Firefighters extinguished the small blaze within minutes and made sure the site was safe.
