A ROW of beach huts were damaged after being targeted in a spate of vandal attacks in Walton.
Six huts at the bottom row of the Southcliff area were damaged last week.
Cracks and splintering to the lower parts of the beach huts were spotted by a Walton Beach Hut Association patroller.
Chairman Eddie Fenwick said: “About half a dozen were hit. It looks like the bottom doors were kicked in.
“We think it was just mindless vandalism. Nothing was taken and it does not look like any effort was made to actually get into the huts. It looks like kids have walked along and just gone bang, bang, bang, but we hate to see it. It’s a great shame."
The owners of the damaged beach huts have now been notified.
Mr Fenwick added: “With the warmer weather coming in now, we want to remind all beach hut owners to make sure their huts are safe and secure.”
