DEVELOPERS are to submit plans for a restricted loading bay for a new supermarket being built in Frinton.

They want a space in Connaught Avenue to be solely for delivery lorries outside the Sainsbury's currently under construction.

The space would be used for deliveries from 7am to 9am.

After that, it would revert to use by shoppers, with signs to help drivers avoid confusion. Development manager Gerald Knight, of Millbrook Land, said it was to ensure a smooth unloading process.

Last month, the plan was presented at Frinton and Walton Town Council and divided opinion among councillors.

Mr Knight wrote to councillors and Frinton Residents’ Association this week in an effort to answer their concerns. He submitted a formal application to North Essex Parking Partnership yesterday.

Mr Knight said: “It is our intention to create the best possible environment for neighbouring residents, shoppers and traders.

“We have reviewed all the concerns raised and believe they can be dealt with positively.”
